The Bible Teaches…..

Isaiah 42:5 defines Him as,

God the Lord, he that created the heavens, and stretched them out; he that spread forth the earth, and that which cometh out of it; he that giveth breath unto the people upon it, and spirit to them that walk therein:

In Isaiah 45:12 that same God says,

I have made the earth, and created man upon it: I, even my hands

, have stretched out the heavens, and all their host have I commanded.

If God sent Joseph Smith to you, He sent him for this reason:  And for this cause God shall send them “strong delusion”, that they should believe a lie: 2 Thes. 2:11

                                                  

Ye are my witnesses, saith the Lord, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me. Isaiah 43:10

 

LDS Teaches….. God’s wives?

God has goddess wives. “This doctrine that there is a Mother in Heaven was affirmed in all plainness by the First Presidency of the Church” (Bruce R. McConkie, Apostle,

Mormon Doctrine 

p.516)

 

The Bible Teaches…..

There is absolutely no mention of any wives of God.  There will be no marriage in Heaven; Jesus answered and said unto them,

Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God. For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage

, but are as the angels of God in heaven. Matthew 22:29-30

LDS Teaches….. Jesus, Married? With Children?

Jesus was married. “Jesus was the bridegroom at the marriage of Cana of Galilee.

We say it was Jesus Christ which was married, to be brought into relation whereby we could see his seed.” (Orson Hyde, Apostle, Journal of Discourses, vol. 2, p.82).

This Mormon doctrine is generally not taught openly today. Marriage in a Mormon temple (called celestial marriage) is mandatory to progress to becoming a god in Mormonism. To fit the theology of Mormonism, the Mormon “Jesus” had to be married–or He would only be a ministering servant to those in Mormonism’s heaven who have “celestial marriage.”

LDS Teaches…..God is a man?

The Father has a body of flesh and bones as tangible as man’s. (Doctrine and Covenants 130:22)

 

“God himself was one as we are now, and is an exalted man….I say, if you were to see him today, you would see him like a man in form….like yourselves, in all the person, image, and very form as a man….He was once a man like us; yea, that God himself, the Father of us all, dwelt on earth” (Joseph Smith, History of the Church, vol. 6, p. 305)

Note: Even Joseph Smith’s Translation of the Bible says in Job 9:32, “For he is not a man, as I am, that I should answer him, and we should come together in judgement”. (Also see Numbers 23:19 JST)

The Bible teaches…

God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. John 4:24

Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have. Luke 24:39

    No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.  John 1:18 (Also Job 9:32, and Numbers 23:19)

 

LDS Teaches….. Many gods?

There are many gods: “In the beginning, the head of the Gods called a council of the gods; and they came together and concocted a plan to create the world and people it….In all congregations when I have preached on the subject of the Deity, it has been the plurality of God’s.” (Joseph Smith, Founder and First Prophet, History of the Church

The Bible Teaches….. There was, is, and only will be only one

God.
Ye are my witnesses, saith the Lord, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he:

before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me.   Isaiah 43:10

Thus saith the Lord the King of Israel, and his redeemer the Lord of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God. And who, as I, shall call, and

 

shall declare it, and set it in order for me, since I appointed the ancient people? and the things that are coming, and shall come, let them shew unto them. Fear ye not, neither be afraid: have not I told thee from that time, and have declared it? ye are even my witnesses. Is there a God beside me? yea, there is no God; I know not any.

Isaiah 44:6-8

   Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. 

James 2:19

 

LDS Teaches….. Mary No Virgin?

Mary was not a virgin.  “Christ was begotten by a mortal Father in the same way that mortal men are begotten by mortal fathers….Christ was born into this world as the literal Son of this Holy Being; He was born in the same personal, real, and literal sense that any mortal son is being born to a mortal father” (Bruce R. McConkie, Mormon Doctrine

, pp. 547, 742).

 

The Bible Teaches…..

Jesus was begotten by the Holy Ghost. Mary was a virgin.

     Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost. Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a publick example, was minded to put her away privily. But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost. And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus: for he shall save his people from their sins. Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us Matthew 1:18-23

And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end. Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man? And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God. Luke 1:33-35          

LDS Teaches….. Become gods?

Man may become gods. “Here then is eternal life…to know the only wise and true God; and you have got to learn how to be Gods yourselves, and to be kings and priests to God, the same as all gods have done before you….To inherit the same power, the same glory and the same exaltation, until you arrive at the station of God” (Joseph Smith, History of the Church

, vol. 6, p. 306)
 

Infamous Mormon quote: “The glory of God is intelligence.” Man can only be saved as fast as he gains knowledge. (See D & C 93:36). This means that we are in a state of eternal progression. We believe that: “As man is, God once was; as God is, man may become

,” by obedience to the laws and ordinances of the Gospel. (Lorenzo Snow, quoted by Preston Nibley, Presidents of the Church, pg. 179.)

 

 

The Bible Teaches….. The great lie of Satan from the beginning

was that man could become a god.
Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened,

and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. Genesis 3:1-5

    How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!

For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High. Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.  Isaiah 14:12-15

The word of the Lord came again unto me, saying, Son of man, say unto the prince of Tyrus, Thus saith the Lord God;

Because thine heart is lifted up, and thou hast said, I am a God, I sit in the seat of God, in the midst of the seas; yet thou art a man, and not God, though thou set thine heart as the heart of God:  Ezekiel 28:1-2

 

For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect.      Mark 13:22    (
