What does the Bible teach concerning the thought of inherit/inheritance
Webster’s definition of inherit To possess; to enjoy; to take as a possession, by gift or divine appropriation; as, to inherit everlasting life; to inherit the promises.

Inheriting eternal life is conditional, see these verses for an example.
(Mat 25:34 KJV) Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:
(Mar 10:17 KJV) And when he was gone forth into the way, there came one running, and kneeled to him, and asked him, Good Master, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life?
(Luk 10:25 KJV) And, behold, a certain lawyer stood up, and tempted him, saying, Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?
(Act 26:18 KJV) To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.
(Rev 21:7 KJV) He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.
Every one of those verses in context shows that inheriting eternal life is conditional.
Now let’s see what else the Bible teaches concerning the word inherit/inheritance.
(Mat 5:5 KJV) Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.
(Mat 19:29 KJV) And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name’s sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life.
(Mat 21:38 KJV) But when the husbandmen saw the son, they said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and let us seize on his inheritance.
(Mar 12:7 KJV) But those husbandmen said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and the inheritance shall be ours.
