Gods of the  Universe?

A Question For Our

Mormon Friends

Mormonism teaches that there are more than one God.  Yes, or No ?

Joseph Smith’s Commentary on the Bible, p.3

The head one of the Gods brought forth the Gods….The head one called the Gods together in [the] Grand Council to bring forth the world….in the beginning, the head of the Gods called a council of the Gods and concocted a scheme to create this world….

1st Contradiction:

The Book of Mormon

Alma 11:22, 26-31

22 And Amulek said unto him: Yea, if it be according to the Spirit of the Lord, which is in me; for I shall say nothing which is contrary to the Spirit of the Lord. And Zeezrom said unto him: Behold, here are six onties of silver, and all these will I give thee if thou wilt deny the existence of

a Supreme Being

26 And Zeezrom said unto him: Thou sayest there is a true and living God?

27 And Amulek said: Yea, there is a true and living God.

28 Now Zeezrom said:

Is there more than one God?

29 And he answered, No.

30 Now Zeezrom said unto him again: How knowest thou these things?

31 And he said: An angel hath made them known unto me.

2nd Contradiction:

 The Holy Bible (KJV)

Isaiah 43:10

Ye are my witnesses, saith the Lord, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me.

Isaiah 44:6

Thus saith the Lord the King of Israel, and his redeemer the Lord of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last;

and beside me there is no God

Isaiah 45:5

I am the Lord, and there is none else, there is no God beside me

: I girded thee, though thou hast not known me:

Isaiah 45:21

Tell ye, and bring them near; yea, let them take counsel together: who hath declared this from ancient time? who hath told it from that time? have not I the Lord?

and there is no God else beside me; a just God and a Saviour; there is none beside me

1 Cor. 8:5-6

For though there be that are called gods, whether in heaven or in earth, (as there be gods many, and lords many,)

But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ

, by whom are all things, and we by him.

(the other gods mentioned are false, and to

us, [Christians]

there is only one God)

James 2:19

Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.

3rd Contradiction:

Early Christian Writers

What must be the condition of the great Supreme Himself? Surely it must be that nothing is equal to Him, i.e., that there is no other great Supreme. For, if there were, He would have an equal. And if He had an equal, He would be no longer the great Supreme….Since, then, God is the great Supreme, our Christian truth has rightly declared, “God is not, if He is not one.”        Tertullian, (c. 207, W), 3.273.

Whatever other god, then, you may

introduce, you will at least be unable to maintain his divinity under any other guise, than by ascribing to him too these properties of Godhood: both eternity and supremacy over all. How, therefore, can two great Supremes co-exist? For it is the attribute of the Supreme Being to have no equal–an attribute which belongs to One alone, and can by no means exist in two.

                  Tertullian (c. 207, W), 3.273.

He is a heretic who believes on another God, or receives another Christ other than Him whom the

Old and the New Testament clearly declare

. They announce without any obscurity the Father Omnipotent, Creator of all things, and His Son.

Treatise on Re-Baptism (c. 304-313, W) 5.675

Thus, in closing we can be assured that there are no other gods!

       (except false gods)

Dear Mormon friend be assured that you in no wise will be able to

your way to Heaven, (nor god-hood). Do not believe it! The Rich Young Ruler couldn’t!

The first lie, “and ye shall be as gods” came from the serpent who deceived Eve. Adam and Eve believed satans lie and that was The fall of man. Gen.3:5
